More than 300 different organizations are considered members of NAPBS. As a member organization, we have access to leading industry resources, technological innovations and breaking news related to the professional background screening industry. The organization works to educate its members, and provides members with monthly webinars as well as training seminars that are offered at conferences scheduled throughout the year. In addition to these educational opportunities, members also have access to a document library that includes charts, templates, white papers and guidelines which are designed to assist members in their day-to-day business. In turn, we pass this vital information on to our clients and use these resources in order to improve our professional background screening services.
In addition to providing educational opportunities, the NAPBS also serves as a legislative advocate for its professional background screening members. The organization employs a lobbyist that is based out of Washington D.C., and this lobbyist keeps the members informed of legislation that is being created and legislation that is working through the legislative system that may impact the industry. In addition to working with a federal lobbyist, the organization also has a Grass Roots Sub-committee which monitors the legislative process at the state and local level.
